TThe Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Malaysia, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), is proud to host a half-day seminar in conjunction with the United Kingdom’s Railway 200 celebration – marking 200 years since the dawn of the modern railway.

Railways have long been at the heart of economic growth, urban development, and sustainable mobility. As Malaysia advances with its urban rail projects – from MRT and LRT to regional initiatives like Sarawak Metro – the question is: how do we deliver world-class rail systems that meet the demands of our growing cities while driving innovation and sustainability?

This seminar brings together leaders and experts from Malaysia and abroad to share lessons from landmark projects and explore the role of rail in shaping the next chapter of our nation’s transport story.

Join us as we reflect on two centuries of railway heritage and look forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead in delivering efficient, sustainable, and people-centred rail systems for Malaysia.
